What is LEL? What is UEL?
Combustible gases have certain ignition points based on the mixture of fuel and oxygen. The LEL or Lower Explosive limit is the mixture necessary to cause ignition on the low end. The UEL, on the other hand, is the opposite. It is the Upper Explosive Limit. Ignition cannot occur outside this spectrum and each combustible gas has different LEL’s and UEL’s.
